Real Eco Solar & Electric job video proof

SunPower inverter says ‘Missing Grid’? See this Signal Hill managed-property diagnosis.

A ‘Missing Grid’ message does not automatically mean the inverter has failed. The inverter must see the correct AC supply through the service equipment, breaker and disconnect before it can operate. On Eco Solar & Electric’s first service call for PMI Patron in Signal Hill, we tested the electrical path at a multifamily property and found the 20-amp solar backfeed breaker off and not fully seated in its socket. After reseating the breaker and restoring the AC connection, we verified that the SunPower system was operating again and documented the result for the property manager.

How we can help

Common reasons customers call

Clear process

What happens next

  1. 01Review the inverter message and reported production problem
  2. 02Identify the inverter, disconnect and solar backfeed breaker
  3. 03Test the accessible AC supply path before condemning equipment
  4. 04Correct the approved breaker or connection issue
  5. 05Restart safely and verify inverter operation
  6. 06Document the result for the owner or property manager

Field experience

The inverter reported the symptom; testing found the cause upstream.

This 70-second Signal Hill field video shows why solar diagnostics should include the AC supply path. The SunPower inverter’s missing-grid message led to the service panel, where the 20-amp solar backfeed breaker was off and not fully seated. Reseating the breaker restored the connection and allowed the system to operate again. The project is named solely to document Eco Solar & Electric’s service experience for PMI Patron; no endorsement is implied.
